They've picked up a bunch of Spot again today! They've been mostly biting between 3/4ths of the way down the pier to the end. When they are slower, it's been mostly down close to the end. They slowed down just a bit around the low tide, but should pick back up. They've been using mostly bloodworms. When they are running, they are running good. So far, they've been slowing around a tide change and picking up again later.
They've also gotten some Speckled Trout today and had a few "keepers." We haven't heard of any "keeper" Puppy Drum.
It is windy, so make sure you dress appropriately. The wind should stay NE through Saturday. It should go SE to S on Sunday, and then NW and back to NE on Monday. We will refrain from speculating further since weather reports around here can change by the minute.
SHARE THE END OF THE PIER WITH EVERYONE!
ONLY 2 RODS MAY BE USED AT ONCE!
DO NOT SPREAD OUT!
PLEASE CALL 757-481-7071 OVERNIGHT AND TOMORROW MORNING FOR AN UPDATED REPORT.
Be careful... We have seen a lot of under-sized Red Drum and under-sized Speckled Trout recently. Red Drum must be a Min 18 IN. to a Max 26 IN.; you can keep 3. Specks must be bigger than 14 IN. (only 1 may be bigger than 24 IN.); you can keep 5. VMRC Regs are here:
They are getting a few Crabs, here and there, but they are definitely not biting anywhere near as well as before the tropical storm.
